Saturday in Fresno

The Z’s continue the eight game west coast road trip tonight in Fresno. NOLA snapped a 2 game losing streak yesterday, winning 2-0.

*The Zephyrs pitched their league leading sixth shut-out last night. The franchise record is 12 shut-outs accomplished in 1997, and 2008.

*Jay Buente contract was purchased by the Marlins today, he will start on Sunday against Tampa. Buente leads the PCL with a 1.94 ERA. He is 3-0 and will make his first Major League start tomorrow.

*Vinny Rottino has reached base in 26 consecutive games, 2nd most on PCL. Josh Kroeger has reached in 19 straight.

*The Z’s have turned 48 double plays, tied for 2nd in the PCL. Las Vegas leads the league with 50.

*Catcher John Baker, has been returned to extended spring training in Florida. He suffered soreness on Thursday. His rehab assignment is on hold. Gregg Glime was activated today by the Z’s.

*Bryan Petersen has led off a pair of games this season with home runs. May 20th at Fresno and April 20th vs. Nashville. He has 5 homers this season and is 8×27 with 7 runs scored in his 7 games since returning from Florida.
