Back at home

After the first scheduled off day of the season, the Zephyrs return home tonight to open an eight-game homestand with the first of a four-game series against the Oklahoma City RedHawks.

The Z’s made a roster move today, adding infielder Oscar Salazar, who had signed with the Marlins on April 8th, about 10 days after being released by the San Diego Padres. The 32-year-old veteran is in his 13th professional season, and batted .237 in 85 games with the Padres last season. Salazar takes the place of catcher Clint Sammons, who was placed on the disabled list with a meniscus tear in his right knee.

Tonight and tomorrow might feature the best weather we have all season at the Shrine, so come on out to see the Z’s against their division rivals! The lineup:

  1. CF Petersen
  2. SS Merchan
  3. 3B Gotay
  4. 2B Thurston
  5. RF Aguila
  6. 1B Kroeger
  7. C Davis
  8. LF Mathews
  9. P Villanueva
