Sink gets the call
The Zephyrs’ season may have ended 10 days ago, but Brett Sinkbeil got his first Major League promotion this week, and last night made his big league debut in the Marlins’ loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Sinkbeil, who tied for the Pacific Coast League lead with 58 appearences this season (second-most in Zephyrs history), retired the only batter he faced – Roy Halladay – on a ground out.
The former first-round pick became the ninth Zephyr this season to make his Major League debut, joining Logan Morrison, Bryan Petersen, Scott Cousins, Brad Davis, Chris Hatcher, Jay Buente, James Houser and Adalberto Mendez.
