Former Zephyrs infielder Chris Coghlan was named the National League’s
Rookie of the Year today, beating out players such as Philadelphia
pitcher J.A. Happ, Atlanta pitcher Tommy Hanson and Pittsburgh
outfielder Andrew McCutchen.
Coghlan is the first former New Orleans Zephyr to win Rookie of the
Year. Andre Dawson won the 1977 NL Rookie of the Year, a year after he
batted .350 with 20 home runs in 74 games for the Denver Zephyrs.
Congratulations to Chris!
