The World Series

The Fall Classic is here.
The matchup of the defending World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies
taking on the Bronx Bombers the New York Yankees!  This is a great match up and most fans have
to agree the best two teams in baseball are playing for the championship.   It’s the defending champs against the team
with the best record during the regular season.
The two top home run hitting teams facing off.  Expect some high scoring games.  Both ballparks can be launching pads.

Lets hope that the games can be played without rain, snow and of
course freezing cold temperatures.
Playing baseball in November in Philly and NY is not exactly the best of
conditions. There is a lot of hype for the games, now lets just Play Ball!

How would you like to be a Cleveland Indians fan: Game one match up
is CC Sabathia against Cliff Lee.  These
two were teammates in
Cleveland 15 months
ago.  That has to be painful to see these
two being the aces for the Yanks and Phils.
They may square off against each other three times in the best of

Zephyrs Notes –  Philly has
five former Z’s on their roster.
Pitchers Brad Lidge, Chan Ho Park,
Chad Durbin.  Infielders Eric Bruntlett and Andy
Tracy.  Yankees have former Zephyr manager Tony Pena on their coaching
staff.  Congrats to Harahan native Chad
Gaudin.  He had a strong season with the
Yankees after coming over in the trade with the Padres.   Former Zephyrs coach Manny Acta was named
Manager of the Cleveland Indians on Monday.

Congrats to Philly

The Philadelphia Phillies are heading back to the World Series!

Congrats to five former Zephyrs: Brad Lidge, Chan Ho Park, Chad Durbin, Eric Bruntlett and Andy Tracy.   Lidge and Park played a big part in the NLCS wins over the Dodgers.

Best of luck as they represent the National League.

The New Logo

The new Zephyrs look is here.  After a long anticipating process the Z’s fans got the first look at it last week.

On Sunday while the Saints were putting a beat down on the NY Giants, Fox Sports Commentators Thom Brennanman and Troy Aikman received a new Z’s cap.  Apparently while doing research for the game.  The broadcasters liked the hat and requested one.

So the logo has gotten some early thumbs up.

Postseason baseball is here.
It was a very disappointing September, All of the races have been
decided for quite a long time for the exception of Tigers collapse.  The match ups are set and we shall be in for
a entertaining October / November.  The
World Series will not end until the first week of November this year.

Z’s fans should root for a Phillies v Twins match up.  Why?
Well if you want the most Z’s represented in the fall classic.

The Twins have Pitcher Jon Rauch, infielder
Brendan Harris, and outfielder Carlos Gomez.

The fighting Phils have pitchers Chad Durbin and Brad Lidge.

The Yankees have former Z Manager Tony Pena as a coach and a
Harahan native Chad Gaudin.  So pick your
teams and root on postseason baseball.
