The Century Mark
Today’s
game is the 100th game of the 2009 Baseball Season. The Z’s will try to stop this historical
losing streak. The team has dropped 13
in a row, the longest losing streak in New Orleans Zephyrs History. The PCL has had two teams drop 13 games in a
row in the decade, no one has dropped 14 consecutive. The league record is 17 and was set eons ago
in 1925 by the Sacramento Solons.
Willie
gets the ball tonight, he is 9th in the PCL in ERA. Get him some runs and this streak will be
history!
Congrats to the Florida Marlins, winners today in LA over the Dodgers. Winners of 5 of their last six. Rick VandenHurk pitched well yesterday in a no decision. Will the Zephyrs roster be impacted this week by the trade deadline. Stay posted!
THIS AND THAT
— The Z’s activated opening day
starting pitcher Ryan Tucker and reliever Carlos Martinez from the DL. To make room Willie Glen and Lavale Speigner
have been assigned to Class AA Jacksonville. Z’s manger Edwin Rodriguez was ejected on Saturday in both games, giving him six ejections for the season.
