Field Activated

The
Zephyrs activated pitcher Nate Field today from the disabled list.  Field had been on the DL with dead arm.  He has already pitched 40 innings this season
and for all of last season he worked 50 innings.   It will a be a big shot in the arm to have
him back in the pen.

The
Zephyrs have dropped a season high nine in a row.
New Orleans continues the nine game
home-stand tonight against the Oklahoma City Redhawks.
Memphis comes to town
tomorrow.  The Redbirds have a pair of
Major Leaguers on a rehab assignment.  SS
Khalil Greene and Troy Glaus expect to be in the line up for the Birds.

To
make room on the roster for Field, the Z’s assigned pitcher Jarrett Santos to Class
AA Jacksonville.

THIS AND THAT- The longest losing streak in Zephyr History is 11 games.  The franchise has done it twice most recent in 2006.  The PCL’s longest losing streak is 17 games, in 1925 by Sacramento.
