The All-Star game
is over and the Zephyrs pennant run goes into overdrive this weekend in Albuquerque. The
Z’s will take on the first place Isotopes in a four game series and then travel
home to take on second place Oklahoma City.
If the Zephyrs are
going to make a run they will need to win some games this week. The Zephyrs dropped the first game on
Thursday at Isotopes Park and now are 0-5 at this stadium this
season. New Orleans is now 4 ½ games back of first place.
The Z’s begin a
stretch a 28 games in 27 days. We will
know a lot more in eight days if weather of not this team has a chance of
making back to the postseason for the first time since 2007.
starting pitcher Rick VandenHurk left last nights game after three
innings. No official word but the
Marlins do need a starter on Monday night in San Diego and it would appear Vandy will considered
for the spot. So it’s a wait and see.
Z’s return home on
Monday for 9 games in 8 days.
