Sanchez Activated

Sanchez returns to the line up tonight in Memphis for the Z’s.  Sanchez was injured over a month ago with a
freak collision at the plate.  The team
is coming off a terrific homestand.  The
team won a series at home for the first time this season a 4-1 series over Albuquerque. 

 

The
Zephyrs moves continue on this Belmont Saturday from Memphis.  The team added a new catcher: Justin
Knoedler.  He was signed a few weeks ago
and the former SF Giant has been at extended spring training working out in
Jupiter. 

 

Unfortunately
when you add you must subtract.  Catcher
John Purdom was released.  He was a great
guy to have around the clubhouse.  

 

Other
news from the clubhouse today is weather or not Cameron Maybin will be
suspended from the incident last night vs. Albuquerque.  Maybin was called out at 1b on a infield hit,
by the way he was safe.  He then argued
with the umpire Jeff Latter, ejected and then bumped the umpire.  Not good! 
He also slammed his helmet down in disgust.  The word is he will get suspended but for how
long we don’t know yet.  The tape will be
reviewed by the league office before any decision is rendered.
