Roster Moves continue
The Z’s roster
movement continues. The Zephyrs have
made 37 roster moves total and 15 this week.
If we continue at this pace when the team arrives home on Friday
everyone will need to get a roster with all of the changes.
New
Orleans
activated reliever Tim Wood today from the disabled list. He has not pitched since May 3rd. The Z’s needed to make a roster move and assigned
Dave Matranga to extended spring training.
Its only a paper move and he will remain with the Zephyrs.
The moves continue on
Monday. The Z’s will add a pair of
starters. Clay Hensley will join the
team and start on Memorial Day in Vegas.
He pitched with the San Diego Padres the last 4 seasons. He is most remembered for allowing Barry Bonds‘
755th career home run, which tied Bonds with Hank Aaron
for most all-time on August 4, 2007.
Florida Marlins
opening day starter Ricky Nolasco will also join the Z’s in Vegas. He is expected to start Wednesday. Nolasco won 15 games last season with the
Fish. He is expected to make two or
three starts with the Z’s and then return to the Marlins.
The roster moves continue
and the Z’s look for a split in the series in Reno on Sunday.
