Shuffling the Deck

The Zephyrs home struggles have been pretty well documented, and things
have not been helped by a series of events that have kept players – and
coaches – off the field. Manager Edwin Rodriguez served a pair of
one-game suspensions for run-ins with umpires, pitcher Daniel Barone
was suspended four games after an altercation with Round Rock on the
last homestand, and top prospects such as Gaby Sanchez (knee injury),
Cameron Maybin (groin injury) and Chris Coghlan (Major League
promotion) have not seen Zephyr Field consistently.

The club wraps up their first eight-game homestand tomorrow, then has a
much-needed day off before heading west for eight games in Nevada with
Reno and Las Vegas. With the day off, the starting rotation gets
juggled, as Barone is expected to return from his suspension and make
the start tomorrow. Tonight’s starter is still officially up in the
air, and who pitches tonight could affect how the rotation shapes up on
the road trip.
