Coming and going

The
roster was pretty stable for the first several weeks but all of the sudden the
Z’s roster has had a number of changes.  The big news today is that Chris Coghlan is getting the call up.  He has been on fire for the Z’s.

Here are the latest coming and
goings.

ROSTER MOVES: GOING – The Z’s put both Jai Miller and
Gaby Sanchez on the disabled list during the last home stand and Tim Wood had
been shelved at the end of their last road trip. Couple that with Carlos
Martinez and Chris Coghlan getting called up to the Marlins in the last two
days and the face of the Zephyrs has changed drastically in the last week.

ROSTER MOVES: ARRIVING -
Several new players have been added to the roster to replace the recently
departed Z’s. Wednesday Matt Craig, who was on the opening day roster for New
Orleans
, rejoined the team and has
been the starting third baseman in both games. Yesterday the Zephyrs acquired
infielder Ryan Klosterman and right-handed pitcher Jarrett Santos from AA
Jacksonville. Joining the team on the road today from High-A Jupiter is the 24
year-old Brad Stone, who is making his first stop in AAA after never playing in
AA.

The Z’s open a four game series tonight against division rival
Albuquerque.  Albuquerque
was the AAA affiliate of the Florida Marlins from 2003-2008, so the four-game
series at
Isotopes
Park
is a homecoming of sorts for many current Zephyrs. Pitchers Daniels Barone,
Jarrett Santos, Nate Field and Dallas Trahern, catcher Brett Hayes, and
infielder Manny Mayorson all played for the Isotopes last season. Outfielder
Jai Miller, who is currently on the DL, was also with
Albuquerque
in 2008.  Z’s trainer Steve Miller and
hitting coach Flip Phillips also return to their ole stomping grounds.
