Wood to DL, Mobley promoted
The Zephyrs have made a move in their bullpen, with right-hander Tim
Wood heading to the disabled list with an oblique injury and
right-hander Chris Mobley joining the club from Double-A Jacksonville.
Mobley was a big part of the Marlins’ Double-A squad coming within one
win of the Southern League championship last season, racking up 28
saves, second-most in the league. The 25-year-old compiled 34 saves in
his first full professional season, with Low-A Greensboro in 2005, and
has 79 saves to his credit in his career. A 22nd round pick by the
Marlins in 2004, Mobley began this season on the disabled list and made
his 2009 debut last Thursday.
The Z’s and Round Rock begin a four-game series tonight at 7:00 p.m.,
with the Zephyrs still in search of their first home win of the
campaign. Despite the struggles at Zephyr Field, the team is remarkably
in a first-place tie, with all four teams in the division seperated by
just one-half game!
