Ryan Honored By PCL

It’s been a rough start for the Zephyrs at home, but outfielder Michael
Ryan has been one of the team’s bright spots, and he was honored as the
Pacific Coast League’s Hitter of the Week today.

Ryan is fifth in the league batting race with a .394 average and is
tied for the league lead with eight doubles. He batted .476 last week
with 10 hits in 21 at-bats, and six of those hits went for extra bases
(four doubles, two home runs).

Chris Aguila was the last Zephyr to win the award, last May 26th through June 1st.

The Z’s make their seventh attempt at a home win tonight against
Albuquerque at 7:00 p.m. After getting stifled by Major League veterans
Jeff Weaver and Eric Milton the last two games, they face a younger
Isotopes hurler in Charlie Haeger tonight. It’s Air Show Night at
Zephyr Field, with a pregame performance from the Navy Band of New
Orleans and a flyover!
